Spin Magazine's Bumbershoot Kick-off Party

A couple weeks ago, we were lucky enough to go to Spin Magazine's Bumbershoot Kick-Off party at The Crocodile in Seattle.

We arrived as nervous nellies, were checked in at the door ("yes we're on the list") and were given 2 drink tickets. The Crocodile was a great environment to hold this kind of party and even though it wasn't as packed as we thought it would be it was still somewhat of a good time.

Copies of the newest issue of Spin Magazine were strewn about on a tables and at the bar, free to steal at the end of the night. A photographer was creeping around taking pictures of the party-goers (my photo was a MAJOR reject! and I ruined the chance of ever being photographed again for the rest of the night.)

Videos of Spin cover shoots were being played on a giant screen and right next to that Sune Rose Wagner sat at his MAC computer playing songs for everyone to enjoy.

The party lasted only two hours and while we had a few glasses of punch (thanks to meeting the Mike's Hard Lemonade sponsor who generously provided us with more drink tickets), and listened to great music, the party, overall, could have been better. More people, better set-up for the guest DJ, and an overall better vibe could have made this party such a great time...but it was a bit lackluster.

We were lucky enough to chat with Sune at the end of the night and he echoed our disappointments with the party. But besides our mutual let-down with Spin we chatted about NYC, music, watching movies in hotel beds, living in Seattle, The Raveonettes next tour, and Facebook. What more could you ask for in a conversation with a sexy rock star?

Thanks Sune! You can put us on the list anytime...
